Understanding how experiences become memories

Research in our lab seeks to explain how people remember events from their lives, how these memories are organized, and why memory sometimes fails. Some of the questions that motivate our work include:

  • What factors affect the organization of our memories?
  • Why are some experiences easier to remember than others?
  • How can we improve memory in the healthy and diseased brain?

We combine behavioral, computational, and neural recording and stimulation techniques to answer these questions and more.
